About Wiwat! Cambridge

We are a new Polish song and dance group which formed in Cambridge after the 8th Festival of Polish Song and Dance held at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge in February 2012. We meet on a Monday evening to rehearse and hope to perform at events across Cambridgeshire and beyond. Wiwat! is a member of the Federation of Polish Folklore Groups In Great Britain.

We meet on a Monday evening in the Polish Club (Klub Polonia) 231 Chesterton Road, Cambridge CB4 1AS

Rehearsals start at 7:30pm and end at 9:30pm

New members are always welcome

Musicians are also welcome as we hope to form a band

Please wear loose clothing and exercise shoes

Our choreographer

Our choreographer and artistic director is Ania Szpek. Ania is an experienced dancer who has performed with groups in London and Leicester. She has a diploma in the instruction of Polish folk song and dance from UMCS in Lublin and has taught and choreographed both children and adults for several years. She is chair of the Federation of Polish Folklore Groups in Great Britain.

Group manager

Group manager is Nick Mazur who is an experienced dancer, having performed with groups in London and Cambridge. Nick has also attended the instructor's course for Polish folk song and dance group leaders in Lublin at UMCS. He co-ordinated the organisation of the 8th Festival of Polish Folk Song and Dance in Cambridge in 2012. Contact Nick at nick@wiwat.co.uk
